The Sunny Lady runs Dolphin Cruises daily. Family owned and operated, this is an ideal way to enjoy a relaxing 1.5 hour cruise watching dolphins play in their natural habitat. These boats feature a glass bottom viewing area, snack bar, restrooms and an air conditioned and heated cabin.

The Dolphin Cruises are 1.5 hour cruises through the Scenic Back Bays of Orange Beach. See Dolphins in their natural habitat while noticing the beauty of the Gulf Coast shoreline. Enjoy an afternoon or sunset cruise depending on the season. Concession stand on board for light snacks and beverages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are we guaranteed to see dolphins on this trip?

Although dolphins are very common in the back bays, we cannot 100% guarantee that you will see dolphins on your excursion. There are no dolphin tour companies that can absolutely guarantee to see dolphins because they are wild animals and their whereabouts are sometimes unknown. Keep in mind that our cruises are not just all about dolphins as the captain will find native birds and other marine life during the trip.

What is the best time to see dolphins?

The truth is, there is no preferred time for seeing dolphins. We see dolphins at all times of the day. Just pick the cruise that best fits your schedule and we’ll be sure to do all we can to find flipper!

Can we bring food and drink on the boat?

Although we offer snacks and beverages on the boat, our guests may bring a small six pack cooler with their own beverages and snacks.  Alcoholic beverages are allowed, but liquor is strictly prohibited as well as any glass containers.

Should I take motion sickness medicine for this trip?

The boat does not expect to experience rough seas because it will not be leaving the bay. For those that have light stomachs, we recommend taking Dramamine or Bonine to prevent motion sickness.

Is this trip good for children?

Yes, the dolphin cruise is probably one of the most popular things to do for children. There is so much to do and see on the Sunny Lady

What kind of food and drinks are offered on the boat?

The snack bar will offer chips, cookies, soda, water and various candies. Items will be priced between $1-2.

Can we bring pets on the boat?

The only pets allowed on the boats are seeing-eye dogs.

What happens when it rains or the weather is not suitable for cruising?

The captain will make the decision to call off the cruise. Customers that decide to cancel last minute or not show are subject to paying for their entire trip. We will communicate with all of our customers if their is inclement weather approaching. If the cruise is cancelled, the staff will call the customer to reschedule or offer a refund.

Is the boat handicap accessible?

Yes, the boat will have  a ramp for handicap passengers.

How many seats and decks does the boat have?

The boat holds 133 passengers and has 3 decks. The boat has a cabin area on the 2nd deck with bathrooms.

Can the boat be used for private parties such as weddings, memorials or birthdays?

Absolutely! Let us know what the occasion is prior to arrival and we’ll make sure it’s the best it can be! Call us for private charter rates.

What is the cancellation policy?

Customers must cancel at least 1 day prior to receive a refund.

What should we bring?

Customers are recommended to bring suntan lotion, cash (tips for mates and snacks) and  a camera.

Are their life preservers on the boat?

Yes, there are life preservers and life boats aboard the Sunny Lady.

Can you take pictures on the boat?

Yes, you are able to take as many photos of the dolphins and boat as you like.

Where does the boat go?

The boat will travel through the back bays, but will not go into the Gulf of Mexico.

Where is the boat located?

The Sunny Lady is located at The Wharf Marina. When pulling into The Wharf,  head to the Northwest end of the complex where the boats are docked. You can’t miss the big yellow boat!

What times do you normally cruise?

The boat will depart 2-3 times daily. Please see the “schedule and pricing” tab on the left navigation menu for more info.

What payments do you accept?

We take all major credit cards and cash. Personal checks are no accepted unless it’s for large parties and pre-arranged.

Is parking free at The Wharf?

Yes

When should we show up for the cruise?

At least 30 minutes before.
